Here is a sneak peek from Claire's maternity session! This was by far one of my favorite sessions. It seemed that no matter what I did with her images, they were all working! She looked stunning in everyone. Her eyes will get you from the first image!

This photo session has really re-inspired me to start looking for new and interesting ways to see maternity sessions. I go thru ups and downs with inspiration... I am sure like many artists. But this session rekindled my desire to get out and make art. Whether it be in my studio or on location.
The simple beauty of this mom to be is, to me, as pure and as real as maternity photography gets.

I had been emailing back and forth with Erin for several months. We had never met and she really just heard of me through word of mouth. But she liked my work and I love clients that know what they are getting into!!! But when Erin and her family arrived, it was straight to shooting, and I have to say, it only took us a few minutes to get comfortable and to begin shooting images that really showed her natural, clean beauty. She has such a wonderful calmness about her. I just hope that I did her beauty justice!!!

I have been photographing Laura since before she was born!!! It has really been such a wonderful thing to watch this beautiful little girl grow up this year. I am just so glad that her mom trusted me with these memories! I just wanted to share a little montage to celebrate Laura's first year!

This is honestly the biggest compliment I have ever gotten, shooting this session. Tom was my boss when I was in the military. Though he wasn't a professional photographer, he enjoyed it as a hobby and was, quite possibly, one of the most honest to goodness, good people that I had ever worked for in my military career. Never played favorites. Never brought a problem to work. Never did anything more than all he could for the people he worked with. Dream boss. I mean that, ask anyone that worked for him.
Well, when I got an email from him and his wife, who are expecting their first child, I was so honored to say yes! Of course I would LOVE to capture this amazing time for them. Now... when you have only ever known someone as your boss, the pressure turns on for a photo shoot.
I have to say, though, as soon as we started shooting, his free spirited wife, Karin and I hit it off like old friends. And all the sudden, the Captain was Tom! It was great, easy, fun and you could feed off of their calm natures and their love.
It is so fun to shoot an expecting couple that you know, full well, will make amazing parents. They have so much to give this child. Karin is one of the most naturally easy people to get along with. She just relaxes everyone around her. Between her beautiful spirit and Tom's just soul... this is going to be an amazing child!
Okay... obviously, I like this couple alot!!!!

This is a really good friend of mine, who is also a wonderful photographer. You can see some of her work at www.warstoweddings.com.
I had the honor of doing two maternity photo sessions with her... though I am sure that her photographer husband had a very similar honor (who is also a ridiculously fabulous photographer). These were mentors for me as a young, budding photographer in my military days. So you can imagine... I was a little nervous. But once we got to shooting, it was all very easy and very natural. Cherie is such an amazing person and really just makes everyone around her comfortable, which was awesome for me during her shoots.
